BREAKING: Fulton County Filing Reveals Failed Immunity Deal for Trump Electors! What's Really Going On?"
Lawyer refused to present immunity deal to clients.
Amidst the tumultuous circumstances surrounding the potential prosecution of former President Trump and his associates in the State of Georgia, a recent court filing has further fueled doubts regarding a prominent attorney representing ten of Trump's electors in the state.
In the ongoing investigation into possible election crimes by former President Donald Trump and his allies, the Fulton County District Attorney's office has requested the disqualification of attorney Kimberly Bourroughs Debrow from representing a group of 10 Republicans who served as electors for Trump in Georgia during the 2020 election. The move comes after the DA's office accused Debrow of failing to present an immunity deal to her clients, according to a court filing.
The news has caused some in the legal community to speculate as to whether someone could have told the attorney not to offer the deal to her clients in fear that they could flip on a larger suspect in the investigation. While we don’t know if that’s the case, the details of this latest filing certainly drives suspicion.
The matter concerns endeavors by Trump and his associates to invalidate the 2020 election outcome in Georgia, a state where he was defeated by President Joe Biden. Presently, no charges have been filed in the case. However, a number of individuals, such as 16 allegedly fake electors and former-Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, were notified that they could be targets of the investigation.
According to the filing, investigators interviewed some of the fake electors this month and found that some of Debrow's clients had implicated each other in additional crimes, creating conflicts of interest that warrant disqualification.
The DA's office is expected to announce soon who, if anyone, will face charges in the case. A special grand jury investigating the matter concluded its work late last year and recommended more than a dozen people should face charges, according to the foreperson for the panel.
This latest development highlights the ongoing legal battle over the 2020 election, with Trump and his supporters continuing to claim that the election was stolen from him despite numerous court rulings and the certification of the results by Congress. The Fulton County investigation is just one of several ongoing probes into possible election crimes by Trump and his associates, and it remains to be seen what the ultimate outcome of these investigations will be.
