In the last 48 hours, a deluge of rainfall has besieged Southeast Florida, causing flash floods that have specifically impacted Fort Lauderdale. The downpour resulted in some sections of I-95 becoming inundated with water, causing numerous cars to become submerged.
Fort Lauderdale was pummeled with an astonishing 25.95 inches of rainfall over a two-day period, while Dania Beach experienced 21.42 inches of rainfall. Other neighboring regions also saw significant precipitation, with totals ranging between nine and 20 inches.
Broward County's esteemed education institutions announced an extended halt to their operations for Thursday. This ceaseless deluge has not only impacted the academic sphere but has also led to a closure of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and nearby thoroughfares.
