Rolling Stone Obtains Texts Showing Donors Are Imploding on DeSantis
In an exclusive report unveiled today by Rolling Stone, a series of revealing text messages from affluent supporters of Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis indicate a waning confidence in the potential 2024 Presidential contender.
Rolling Stone obtained multiple chat messages and they have confirmed the identities of those involved in the discussions.
Images of a group chat among affluent donors of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, revealed to Rolling Stone that the participants were deeply concerned about DeSantis' prospects in the upcoming presidential race and his chances running against Donald Trump in the primary election.
Following DeSantis' failure to interrupt his out-of-state publicity tour in the midst of severe flooding in South East Florida, one participant expressed their dissatisfaction, stating, "What the f*ck is wrong with RD (Ron DeSantis)?"
This news comes just days after top Republican donor Thomas Peterffy announced that he and his friends were holding off on backing DeSantis because of his stance on both book banning and abortion.
It’s widely expected that DeSantis will soon announce his candidacy for President in 2024, but it seems as if he is trending downward over the past several weeks. Will that be enough to prevent him from running? Donald Trump certainly hopes so.
Some of the latest polls show that while Trump is leading DeSantis in most head-to-head battles, DeSantis seems to fair better head-to-head with Joe Biden than Trump does in several battleground states.
A recent poll conducted in Pennsylvania indicates that Governor DeSantis is ahead of President Biden by a margin of 45% to 42%, while former President Trump trails behind the incumbent leader with 42% to Biden's 46%. The same poll also revealed that in Arizona, DeSantis is leading Biden with a 48% to 42% advantage, but Trump is lagging behind the Democratic frontrunner with 44% to Biden's 45%.
