In the past two to three months, the ex-president has resorted to using racial rhetoric in a public attempt to defend himself against allegations of criminal misconduct. This trend has intensified in recent weeks, especially after Trump's indictment in Manhattan and the possibility of further charges in Fulton County, Georgia.
What's particularly revolting is that Trump has targeted three African American individuals, accusing them of "racism". This term, however, refers to a system of societal advantage based on race, which does not exist within the African American community. Although prejudice against white people may occur among African Americans, it does not constitute racism. Here is a closer examination of the language Trump has employed against these high-profile figures.
Trump's comments on Fulton County DA Fani Willis:
"They’ve got a local racist democrat district attorney in Atlanta who is doing everything in her power to indict me over an absolutely perfect phone call."
Trump's comments on NY AG Letitia James:
“I’m under investigation. This time it’s civil investigation by another racist in reverse."
Trump's comments on Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg:
"HE IS A SOROS BACKED ANIMAL WHO JUST DOESN'T CARE ABOUT RIGHT OR WRONG NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HURT.”
and
“The Racist Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, who is presiding over one of the most dangerous and violent cities in the US..."
The remarks appear to only be an attempt to further muddy the waters around the multiple investigations into Mr. Trump. His supporters seem to eat the language up, but to outsiders the intent is quite clear.
Trump Uses Race to Try and Defend Himself.
