Twitter: Hate, Nazism and Antisemitism is Very Real
WARNING: Highly offensive content.
After immersing myself in the trenches of progressive politics on social media for an extended period, I've become accustomed to the despicable vitriol hurled at me by bigots and their ilk. With a last name that unmistakably identifies me as a Jew, the floodgates of loathing, idiocy, and abhorrence have been opened in my direction. The resultant sludge of hate and ignorance that I've been forced to wade through is nothing short of nauseating. With that said, one would think with the advent of AI and a society pushing more towards equality and peace, social media would be getting better, not worse.
Ah, but alas, the self-proclaimed champions of "free speech" have cunningly cloaked themselves behind a twisted interpretation of the First Amendment. Their aim? To dupe none other than the great Elon Musk into believing that Twitter ought to be a virtual haven for all manners of uncensored expression, so long as it's not deemed illegal. Although Musk has banished Kanye West, also known as "Ye", from his platform for spouting Nazi rhetoric, Twitter remains awash with an array of repulsive content. Much of this filth is directed towards Jews like myself, as I recently discovered after dedicating a mere 20 minutes to perusing a handful of active accounts that have yet to be removed. In fact, one account even has swastikas within its username. I must warn you, the material I came across is highly offensive. Here's a sampling:
Perchance these accounts will face the axe in due course, although it's conceivable that Twitter's team may be overburdened with the sheer volume of repugnant content pouring in. Only time will tell. Nonetheless, it's crucial that we shed light on this ongoing debacle and the bleak trajectory we're headed towards if individuals persist in invoking the First Amendment to justify hate speech on a privately-owned digital platform. It's a false premise, as the First Amendment does not safeguard such repugnant conduct.
