Attorneys for E. Jean Carroll, the writer who accused former President Donald Trump of rape in the 1990s, have released approximately 48 minutes of deposition video. The video was made public after several media outlets requested its release.
During the October deposition, Carroll's attorney Roberta Kaplan showed Trump a photograph from the late 1980s featuring Trump, his then-wife Ivana, Carroll, and her then-husband John Johnson. After mistakenly identifying Carroll as his second wife, Marla Maples, Trump was corrected and told it was Carroll. Trump has denied the allegations, claiming Carroll "made up" the story and that she was "not my type." Carroll sued Trump for defamation and battery.
